Since 1936, The Prince has stood as an iconic Melbourne landmark. From its grand Art Deco beginnings, it has continuously evolved alongside the city’s culture — from hosting the US military in the 1940s, to becoming a cornerstone of Melbourne’s LGBTQIA scene in the 1970s, and a home for punk and counterculture in the 1980s. Following a striking restoration in the 1990s, The Prince emerged as a symbol of Melbourne’s culinary renaissance with the opening of its celebrated restaurant, Circa. Today, The Prince boasts three unique levels, each offering its own distinct atmosphere, making it a truly versatile and dynamic venue — and one like no other.
